About
I’m Nigel Tan, also known as Tan Jin Chun. I work across semiconductor engineering, applied AI research and community leadership.

Electrical and computer systems engineering gave me a way to understand complex systems. Working in physical design sharpened that into a practice: pay attention to the details, make the evidence clear and keep improving.
At the University of Malaya, I’m studying how forecasts and uncertainty can support more reliable building monitoring. My contribution is a methodology and comprehensive empirical validation, using existing forecasting and conformal prediction methods.
That same practical mindset shapes my community work. As President of ASeM Alumni, a mentor and a volunteer, I enjoy connecting people with opportunities to learn and contribute.
